Ok, so it doesn't have a catchy title, and it's not an interesting subject; but, it could keep your house from burning down and it could save your life or the lives of your family members. This is a quick follow-up to my blog entry last month on home maintenance. I just came across this video showing how to clean your dryer vent, and it's awesome! Not only does the video show you a cool tool for doing it (that I must now rush out and buy), but it also shows you why you need to clean your vent. If you haven't cleaned out your vent in the last year, it probably looks like this lady's vent and you will see why this is a must. Click on this link to watch the video:
FYI- the tool in the video retails for $19.99. That's well worth the investment! (You do have to have a power drill to use it.) There are other tools to clean your dryer vent if you don't have a drill or don't want to use your drill.
Ladies- if you get this attachment, it may be an easy way to convince your husband / domestic partner / boyfriend to clean the dryer vent for you, because he gets to use a power tool. Most men love any excuse to use a power tool, especially a drill. Also, he gets to use a leaf blower too if he has one. It's win-win. :)
